Author Biography

William L. Sullivan is the author of a dozen books and numerous articles about Oregon, including a column for the Eugene Register-Guard. A fifth-generation Oregonian, Sullivan backpacked 1361 miles across the state's wilderness in 1985, a story recounted in his adventure journal Listening for Coyote (chosen one of Oregon's 100 Books). Since then he has authored three novels, two books on Oregon history, and a popular series of 100 Hikes guidebooks.
