Summary

Poetry, rhythm and melody help make it easier to absorb a new languageand make learning fun! Korean Nursery Rhymes: Wild Geese, Half Moon and Other Favorite Songs and Rhymespresents fourteen well-loved rhymes in bilingual English and Korean text (both Hangeul script and Romanized Korean are given). The accompanying audio CD contains recordings of all the rhymes performed in Korean and English. The selections include songs that involve children singing together or with their parents. Some of these songs accompany everyday play activities like jump rope and hand clap games. Others speak to a child's view of nature, and a love of home. All rhymes are presented in interlinear Korean-English form to encourage language learning. Notes throughout the text offer nuggets of interesting information about Korean culture and explain how the games are played. Each rhyme is presented on its own vibrantly illustrated spread, making this the perfect introduction to Korean language and culture for preschoolers!
