Summary

Mountcastle, a former chief of military history of the US Army and an experienced combat veteran, describes the wartime development and use of all types of incendiary weapons by the US during WWII. He concentrates on efforts made by American industry, academia, and the armed forces to develop not only weapons but the tactics needed to direct their effective employment.

Author Biography

A former chief of military history of the United States Army, retired Brigadier General John Mountcastle holds a doctorate in military history from Duke University. He is an experienced combat veteran.
