Summary

With clarity and openness, this proposal offers presentations of oft-misunderstood Buddhist stapleskarma, the nature of self, the causes of both individual and societal troublesand encourages stark self-reflection on issues such as modern society's constant drive for more money, sex, stimulation, and the seemingly unending propensity for war. Offering profound alternatives to these negative aspects of modern life, this guide puts forth ideas for a revolution that favors social justice and peace. Buddhist thought meets Western sensibilities in this bracing, hopeful, and empowering discussion.
