Author Biography
Born into a military family where she was raised in a life of discipline, integrity, and strong family values that would instill in her a somewhat tenacious disposition. This is why she has dedicated last 15 years of her life bringing awareness and advocating changes in the way we identify the different levels of concussions and understand the dangerous and life-threatening Second Impact Syndrome that almost killed her son Preston.
Tammy, Preston and her family have been featured in numerous articles all over the world regarding concussions and SIS including but not limited to, the NY Times, USA Today as well as an ESPN E:60 documentary based on Preston's story and Second Impact Syndrome. She also testified before the House Judicial Committee along with the NFL Medical Committee in NYC regarding safer helmets and new concussion protocols within the NCAA and NFL.
She lives with her son Preston, husband Ted and two rambunctious fur babies in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.
