Summary

A collection of comic essays, sketches, and spoofs about antiques and collectibles, Collecting Dust is the funniest book ever written about the world of collectors, dealers, auctions, flea markets, yard sales, and the romantic allure of discount treasure hunting. More amusing than a Louis XVI mahogany commode (and easier to move), the book is a bazaar filled with with winners, keepers, and treaures. Collect this book! Book jacket.

Author Biography

Scott Wood was born in Washington D.C. and, like a character in the book, whom he does not resemble in the slightest, was an Army brat. He survived a rudimentary public education, doing well only in Daydreaming. Over the years, he has held all kinds of jobs, briefly. As a young adult, he stumbled in and then right back out of the family antiques business. Although inept at buying, appraising, and dealing, he did make notes. Now, in a desperate attempt to avoid work, he has used those notes to produce this book. Scott Wood lives on the move with his wife, three children, and countless pets.
