Author Biography

Carol Squiers is a curator at the International Center of Photography. She has contributed to a wide variety of books and journals, including Artforum, the New York Times, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Parkett, Art in America, and Aperture. She lives in New York. Vince Aletti is adjunct curator at the International Center of Photography. He reviews photography exhibitions for The New Yorker's Goings on About Town and was the art editor of The Village Voice from 1994 to 2005. He lives in New York. Philippe Garner is an expert in photography and 20th-century design, and a principal at Christie's. He has published widely on the decorative arts, design, and photography. He lives in London.
